Head Chef John Poole is passionate about using fresh local produce. John has lived in the area for most of his life and sources the freshest fish, meat and vegetables from local fishermen, farmers and growers.
“We are fortunate to have a range of first-class local producers right on our doorstep, all really keen to supply their produce to us.
All the beef and pork we use is Cornish and we source it from as close to home as we possibly can. We use Mylor fisherman for the daily catch and for all our crab meat, and we also buy in fantastic fresh fish landed at Newlyn, a little further along the coast.
We buy wonderful organic vegetables from the Lizard Leaf Company situated less than a mile from us. During the game season we have a continuous supply of birds as well as venison, all shot within a five-mile radius of the Pandora.
What could be better than serving fish and shellfish that’s come off a boat that landed its catch on the Pandora’s own pontoon? Now that’s really fresh and local!”
