The Pandora Inn has been named Tourism Pub of the Year in the 2017/18 Cornwall Tourism Awards.
“We are absolutely delighted!” said Steve Bellman who, with John Milan, has been at the helm of the Pandora Inn since 1999. “After two years of coming away with Bronze awards we are thrilled to return to the Gold position. With the Cornwall tourism awards in their 16th year we are very proud that in every year that The Pandora has participated we have picked up an award – totalling six gold and four bronze.”
He went on: “This is our seventh consecutive award and this is a terrific achievement for the team here at the Pandora as it shows how consistently high our standards are in all areas – food, drink, service and, most importantly, attracting tourists to Cornwall. No other pub in Cornwall can claim that record. The team, led by managers Catherine and Lester Croft, should be very proud of what they have achieved.”
Business from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly celebrated this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards at a dinner in Newquay with Olympic gold medallist, Helen Glover, presenting the awards. The awards saw 180 entries entering 26 different categories covering everything from surf schools, cafes and hotels to cottages, spas and holiday parks.
Successful businesses in the Cornwall Awards will be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February 2018 and possibly invited to represent Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the 2018 national VisitEngland Awards where the Pandora has previously picked up a bronze and highly commended award.
