The Pandora Inn has won Gold in the South West Tourism Awards. To be judged by an expert, independent panel and named as the top pub in a geographical area that covers Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, and Cornwall is a terrific achievement. In the difficult and challenging year we’ve all just been through, it’s even more of a feat.
We are delighted for our team who worked so hard to keep everyone safe in the months we were allowed to open and who, like most people, struggled with the lockdowns and the impact this had on earnings (especially tips which the government wouldn’t consider for the furlough scheme) – but we got through and are looking forward to a more normal year!
And the news gets better! Steve and John, who’ve been at the helm of The Pandora Inn since 1999 also took the Silver in this category with their pub on Dartmoor – the Three Crowns at Chagford! Well done to our sister pub which is well worth a visit and is only about 10 minutes off the A30 Whiddon Down junction. We think this might be a first in the history of the tourism awards with one set of operators taking the top two awards!
