The Pandora Inn was crowned ‘Pub of the Year’ for the third successive year in the Cornwall Tourism awards 2014/15.
“To say we are delighted would be an understatement,” said John Milan, who owns the Pandora with Steve Bellman. “We were up against very strong competition this year and are thrilled to have managed to make it three in a row.”
Steve said: “As ever, well done to the whole Pandora team, led by managers Lester and Catherine Croft and our head chef Tom Milby, they are a terrific bunch of people always professional and always enthusiastic.”
The awards judge that undertook a mystery visit said: “This is a wonderful location and, on my first visit, I was totally awestruck! It is a little pocket of heaven which entrances you and takes you on many different journeys. Such a great choice of food and drink for all tastes and pockets.”
Now in their thirteenth year, the annual awards, organised by Visit Cornwall and sponsored by Hoseasons, shine the spotlight on the stars of the local tourism industry and with twenty-one categories applaud brilliance in all aspects of the visitor experience.
Proud Cornishman and England rugby union legend, Phil Vickery, joined the celebrations and as the guest speaker for the Award evening, entertained with tales of his sporting triumphs.
Having won in Cornwall, the Pandora hopes to go on to represent the county in the South West Tourism awards and, if successful, will go through to the nationalVisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2015.
