The annual St. Austell Brewery Tribute Awards took place at the Great Western Hotel in Newquay on January 29th with managers and staff from amongst St Austell brewery’s 170 tenanted and managed pubs and hotels in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset gathered to toast the best performing venues in the region.
The Director’s Award went to our very own Steve Bellman and John Milan who have operated The Pandora Inn for the last 15 years. The Director’s Award is not awarded every year and is a special accolade given to an individual or business that has made an exemplary contribution to the South West pub industry. James Staughton, St Austell Brewery Managing Director, praised Steve and John’s passion and dedication to operate to a consistently high standard for food, drink, and service and in particular their unprecedented achievement in winning The Gold award for four consecutive years in the Cornwall Tourism Awards. Collecting the award alongside Steve and John were Pandora Inn Managers Catherine and Lester Croft.
The Pandora Inn was also awarded the award for Best Wine House following on from the regional award achieved in the Great British Pub awards last year. This award recognises the quality of the wine offer and service at the Pandora.
Adam Luck, St Austell Brewery Estate Director, said: “The winners and runners-up in all categories were of an extremely high standard this year. I would like to congratulate the managers, tenants and staff who continue to work hard to keep up the amazing quality of service we strive to offer our customers.
