The Pandora Inn has picked up its third Gold Award in a row in the South West Tourism Awards. At the awards ceremony on 12 February in Weston-super-Mare the Pandora saw off competition from some of the best pubs in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire to be awarded Gold in Tourism Pub of the Year category. This year, a Gold Award was also given to a second pub – The Pony & Trap at Chew Magna in Somerset.
John Milan said: “We are absolutely delighted that we have made it three in a row. It’s a great honour for the pub, and a well-deserved reward for Catherine, Lester, Tom and all the team who have put so much effort into making it a success.”
The Tourism Pub of the Year Award is given to pubs that have made a significant contribution to the tourism industry, with a pub experience that incorporates quality locally sourced food, a wide range of beers, real ales, wines and other beverages.
Winners also must be able to demonstrate their contribution to the long-term sustainability of the local community in which they live and run their business.
