The Pandora Inn has been named as a finalist in the Pub of the Year category of this year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards – the region’s ‘pinnacle’ in tourism excellence.
“Having recently won Gold as the Tourism Pub of the Year in the Visit Cornwall Awards, we are thrilled be in the running for this prestigious regional award,” said Steve Bellman who, with John Milan has been at the helm of the Pandora since 1999.
It has been an extraordinary year, with challenges and obstacles for everyone, and all of us having to adapt and change on many occasions. To be a finalist in such an era is an outstanding feat, well done team Pandora!
“We are doubly chuffed this year as the Pandora’s sister pub The Three Crowns in Chagford is also a finalist!” added Steve.
Recently crowned Tourism Pub of the Year by Visit Devon, The Three Crowns is just 10 minutes from the A30. With 21 en-suite boutique bedrooms it’s an ideal place to break your journey on the way to Cornwall. If you’re based in Cornwall, why not take a trip out to enjoy some spectacular moorland scenery? The two award-winning pubs are about 1 hour 40 minutes apart.
This year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards saw 416 entries, including those into the Dorset, Cornwall, Devon and Bristol, Bath and Somerset awards. The South West awards panel met at the start of March, selecting 78 finalists who will all go on to become regional winners at this year’s online awards event on 22 April. Being amongst the 19% of entrants to become a finalist is a huge achievement, especially in England’s top region.
